Hainan is an island without winter. The island experiences an annual three-season cycle, which features only spring, summer and autumn. During the summer, the sea breeze makes the weather in Hainan very cooling and during the months when the northern regions of China experience the snow and raging winds of winter, Sanya on the other hand still feels like spring. Located in the southernmost tip of Hainan Island, Sanya maintains a tropical monsoon climate all year round. The annual temperature in Sanya averages to 25.4°C. Typically, the maximum temperature can rise up to 28.3°C in July, while the minimum temperature can descend to 20.7°C in January. Sanya is known as the "Oriental Hawaii" as it receives about 2563 hours of sunshine annually. Furthermore, out of 365 days in a year, more than 300 of them are bright and sunny. Hence, it is as if Sanya experiences summer throughout the whole year.
